Let There Be Light

(Starts with the lights turned off)
In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth, but the earth was a giant pot of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blurriness, basically it was colorless,

Just a little bit like now as we sit in the dark and we cannot tell yellow from red, or blue from purple… until God said, Let there be light! And there is light and colour and beauty, the rainbow, and there was you.

Have you ever wondered, if God were a work of art, what color, what shade, what tone would he be?
Maybe Joyful yellow? Because he laughs out loud from the heavens?
Or a bloody shade of red- considering the solemn sacrifice of His son.
But as a graceful king, he would be clothed in green, or purple, or blue reflecting free orange tones or he could be every single color plus those we don’t even know.

God is light, and even science says that colors are formed from light, are reflections of light and like a fish dies outside water, colors cannot exist outside light.

So in the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth, but the earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blurriness, basically it was colorless,

And God said, let there be light, life, sky & colour…
This was an invitation to explore your priceless body of work, God
you are both the master artist and a masterpiece.

So here’s an ode to the King of colours.
God, your throne is the colour of grace: and now I’m saved, breaking free from the cage, strengthened to walk again.

Oh Your belly is the colour of joy, thundering laughter that slays the spirit of heaviness. Baptizing us with gladness
I’m glad this joy cannot be silenced.

Your outstretched arm is the colour of friendship.
Beckoning to me as I swayed from that tree.
Me?
The short man who could not chill with the big boys, now housing a king in this temple.

Oh I know, I know your feet is the colour of honor.
For who am I that you are mindful of me.
walking beside me and calling me royalty.

I said here’s an ode to the King of colours, outside of whom they cannot exist.

Your voice o God is the colour of faith.
Calling forth light from darkness.
Speaking life to blackness.
It’s the audacity for me

Your hair is tinted in multiple shades of wisdom and knowledge. So this life exam go sweet o, cos my sit partner knows the beginning and the end.

Your heart is the colour of love. Consistently choosing us on our worst days, you loved our dead spirits back to life.

And when you smile
It is the colour of hope, reassuring us of the blue skies ahead
And now I know
I can cast my net
Into the deep blue sea of success.

In the beginning,
God created the heavens and the earth,
But the earth was a giant pot of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blurriness, basically it was colourless.

So I say, Let there be light!
So please shine bright
Immerse yourselves in these God-colours
Until the world sees the Christ.
