Come up – 2

The picture shows two different glasses of water. Fishes are cramped in one, but the other is totally void of fishes. Now, these fishes are not complaining, they are swimming happily from the look on their faces, enjoying life in the water. The water is their world, it’s all there is to life for them, they are so comfortable and would have no need to desire more…they don’t even know more exists.

They are so focused on their present state of happiness that they don’t even know there is another pool out there. Okay, let’s even assume that by some miracle, they know that another water exists outside their own space, they probably would not have a reason or enough motivation to go there after all water is water.

Why?

They don’t know what possible benefits they would get from this new water.

I hope I haven’t lost you with this fish-talk. But just sit tight.

Can we do something weird? Yes.

Let’sassume, that the fishes are highly intellectual, they can see into the future and somehow know all the benefits that come with going to this new water. Wow!! Awesome!! Food! Space! A class of your own!! Deep

What do you think the fishes would do?

I put it to you, that even if they got to know the benefits of the new water, they would still not go there. Incase you are wondering why…this is it.

Fish A wants to go, Fish B draws him by the ear…tells him that a bird in hand is worth two in the bushes. Why leave here when at least you are comfortable, what if you go there and its not better like you think? And worst of all chai! Have you considered the distance…it would take a lot of energy to go o, what if whilst trying to go there, you fall out of the water and die…Fish B clears his throat and adds ” a word is enough for the wise”

Hmmm think on this.

When God tells you to come up, He’s saying separate yourself from the other fishes, leave that pool where you are presently comfortable and come to a secluded location where you can dine with me.

Now along the way, the idea may not seem so appealing anymore, trust me when you are given a leading to fast and it’s not as if you had a bad dream or something o…just to fast as a discipline. Charley, it may not be an idea that’ll call for celebration but your choosing to do it regardless is the coming up we are talking about.

To come up means you would be willing to take risks, push yourself and just trust God totally. It is getting to a place of trust, that even if i fall whilst leaping to touch, He’ll catch me. It is being willing to termed as stupid by the voices around you.

Charley to come up, means you must grow deaf to the discouraging voices, refuse to be comfortable with your present state and once again trust. You cannot come up if your mind is too logical. You have to get to a place of surrender. A stepping out of the boat and just letting God lead.

It is deliberately postponing pleasure because you can see the future ahead of you, its choosing to chase purity in a world of diverse pollution. It is choosing to follow leading and instructions even if it means you doing it afraid. It is choosing to press on and say “I don’t count myself to have attained”.

You just have to come up not because of yourself alone, but for the sake of the lives and destinies that are attached to yours.

It’s my prayer that the Holy spirit interprets this to you. I choose to come up today, what about you?

Thanks for sticking to the end. Don’t forget to share if this blessed you. Have a beautiful week ahead.
