The “how” of the matter

A friend knocks at your door on a very tiring day,he does not even wait for you to open up before pushing his way through with irritating chants of “I have the solution…  i have the solution”. You’re just thinking  solution to what? when he blurts out “I have the solution to Nigeria’s electricity problem!”.

Lol. It is not as if you find pleasure in pouring ice water on people’s fire. It is just that everyone knows that this electricity palava is beyond one man, talkless of a young dreamer like Uchenna. So you reply “okay”. Okay.

Stopping at “okay”  would have been manageable maybe, but the Nkechi inside of you knew, you just knew that it would be a perfect display of wisdom to change the topic. “So Uche, how far with your car now?”

His failed attempt at hiding his dissapointment is marked by the nervous movement of his toes.Uchenna only moves his toes that way when something made him uneasy. Apart from that sef, tell me…You tell me who wants to be labelled a dream killer and vision blocker. So you ask “oya tell me , what is the solution” amidst rolled eyes and poutish mockery.
“I would generate energy from the sand and then…”

Is this one even serious? Energy? Sand? , not even wind energy, sand. Abeg how? How is that even possible?

Even though i hate to admit it, this is close to my reaction when i read “… I will even make a way in the wilderness, [and] rivers in the desert.”(Isaiah 43:19)

I went like:

Dear God, it is called a desert because of its dryness and lack of water. How do you intend making rivers, (not even one @ rivers) in the desert. Would you make it rain continuously until a part of the desert becomes muddy and then water forms in puddles?  I am confused.

How really do you want to lift me out of my present state to sit with kings and queens like you promised.  It is not like I am questioning you, there are just things that can’t give my brain the light of day. You have shown me awesome promises. They are really exciting but…I can’t see how you intend doing it.

You may never be able to figure out the how of the matter. That is not yours to worry about. Simply believe.

Have a lovely week ahead and share with a loved one 💞💞.
